Alpargatas appoints a new director for southern Europe. Havaianas’ parent company has replaced Michele Pittureri with Vittorio Fioro as general manager, he will lead the group’s operation in Europe, Middle East and Africa of the group.

 

Fioro has been working in the company for almost twelve years. In 2008, the manager joined Alpargatas as distribution manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) of the group. Later, Fioro undertook the position of commercial director and development director for the same region, a position he held until his recent promotion. “We have ambitious goals, both from the point of view of distribution and product,” Fioro has confirmed to Fashion Network.

 

The group’s market in Europe, Middle East and Africa market consist of Italy, Greece, Malta and the Balkans, which account for 30% of the company’s total sales, according to Fashion Network. In the region, the group has 180 points of sale, both its own and franchises. The offices are in Bologna, a city where the Brazilian company has been based since 2009.

 

Espadrilles was launched by Havaianas in 1962. The Sao Paulo-based company has a presence in fifteen European markets. Havaianas ended the fiscal year of 2019 with a revenue of 777 million euros (842 million dollars), 10% more than the previous year. The profit was up by 29%, to 90 million euros (97.6 million dollars).
