Pablo Isla (Inditex): “Our leadership in the sector implies responsibility”

“Our leadership in the sector implies responsibility”. Inditex’s president pointed out, within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the worldwide deal between the company and the UNO Global Union, the importance of trade union representation in all areas of the group’s production chain.

“We want to get in greater depth”, pointed the executive, because “it is a key deal that helps us improve as a company”. One of the goals that the company set in this sense is “to keep being leaders and sustainable” and “improve in product and sale, but also in terms of people and quality of work”. Isla appreciated the support shown by the associations UGT and CCOO, because “without them we wouldn’t have reached the point we are at now “, pointed the group’s president.

Further from the deal with UNO Global Union, Isla highlighted other SCR initiatives in which the group works. Within them, the executive pointed the project For&From that gives jobs to disabled people. Moreover, Isla stated that the project will begin to work now in Italy.

Diversity has also been part of Isla’s speech. The executive explained that “the glass ceiling inside the group has naturally broken down in the last years” with the incorporation of women in senior positions.
