El Corte Inglés reinforces childrenswear overseas. The department stores group has sealed an alliance with the Chinese marketplace, Secoo to distribute Tizas, Brotes and Cotton Juice.
The alliance also contemplates the possibility of adding other brands to the platform in the future. Secoo is one of the biggest marketplaces in China, where it represents 15% of luxury sales and other international groups like LVMH are present.
This alliance goes a step forward with El Corte Inglés internationalization in the Chinese market and arrives a couple of months after the giant closed a deal with Alibaba to distribute its products in the AliExpress platform.
In 2018, international sales of the group rised 6.75% in 2018, up to 850.8 million euros (944.8 million dollars). The revenue coming from the group’s international market represent 5.4% of the total.
