Karen Millen farewell to retail: closes all stores

Karen Millen and Coast say goodbye to retail. Both companies have closed their 32 stores and 117 concessions in the United Kingdom, Drapers stated. Their new owner, Boohoo Group, has already begun the process to relaunch them online.

Boohoo bought the online business and intellectual property of Karen Millen and Coast on August 6 for 18.2 million pounds (22.3 million dollars). Karen Millen had bought Coast’s business in 2018.

In recent years, Boohoo has also acquired Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal and MissPap. The company net revenue grew 47.8% in 2018, reaching 856.9 million pounds (1 billion dolars).
