Spanish company Ecoalf lands in Japan: seals a joint venture with Sanyo Shokai
With this joint venture, the Spanish company is planning to open its first flagship store in Tokyo in 2020.
Ecoalf enters the Japanese market. The company, one of the references of sustainable fashion in Spain, has taken one more step in its international expansion through a joint venture with the Japanese group Sanyo Shokai.
With this agreement, the company is planning to open its first flagship store in the county in 2020. “Japan is a market with a high growth potential, specifically in fashion and sustainable lifestyle”, stated Javier Goyeneche, Ecoalf’s founder, in a press release.
Ecoalf has international presence with a store in Berlin
Founded in 1976, Sanyo is a Japanese fashion retailer. With around one thousand employees, the group was a licensee for Burberry Japan between 1965 and 2014 and today distributes international brands like Mackintosh London.
Up until now, Ecoalf has three stores in Madrid, Barcelona and Berlin. The company is controlled by the investment fund Manor Group since March 2017.
