From all shoppers who are thinking about purchasing this Thanksgiving, 87% plan to shop in-store and 94% plan to shop online. The survey found that more than 40% of all online spending for the Thanksgiving period is expected to happen on Cyber Monday.
Online shopping is estimated to account for more than half of Thanksgiving period spend. For those who shop in-store during the Thanksgiving period, 36% will do so on Cyber Monday. Almost all the respondents said they planned to spend the same or more when compared to two months ago (91%), and one-third (38%) plan to spend more.
Among the most popular categories during the Thanksgiving period shoppers are clothing; electronics and accessories; toys and hobbies; food and beverage; health and beauty, and home and kitchen, in order.
