The Italian fashion group has signed Esteban Liang, former Inditex to lead its business in the Asian country where it operates with more than 300 stores.

Max Mara appoints former Inditex as CEO for China

 

 

Max Mara boosts its team in Asia. The Italian fashion group, owner of brands like Weekend, Sportsmax, Max&Co and Marina Rinaldi, amongst others, has appointed Esteban Liang as its new chief executive officer in China.

 

The executive, that will be based in Shanghai, will report directly to Luca Uras, chief executive officer of Asia Pacific, Japan and Middle East of the Italian group. The executive will be in charged of supervising more than 300 stores that the group has in the Asian country. 

 

Liang, that will join the group at the end of November, has a long trajectory in fashion, working more than ten years in the Spanish fast fashion giant, Inditex, where he held several positions like Asia expansion director and deputy managing director in China. 

 

 

 

 

The executive was up until now the managing director in Asia of Costa Coffee, a position he has held for five years. Liang has a degree in civil engineer in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an MBA in Insead.

 

The company, founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, has more than 2,300 stores around the world. Its headquarters are located in the Italian location of Reggio Emilia and it’s a family owned business, led by Luigi Maramotti, son of the founder and current chief executive officer. 

 

The group, that is present in 105 countries, has more that 2,300 stores and is present in more than 10,000 multibrand stores.
