The company owned by OTB has renovated the contract of the designer for the Paris-based brand. Galliano joined the company in 2014.

John Galliano stays put: renews with Maison Margiela

 

 

Galliano stays in Paris. The company, owned by OTB, has renovated the contract of the designer for the Paris-based brand. The terms of the contract haven’t been disclosed but it’s understood to continue for several years, according to WWD.  

 

According to Renzo Rosso, president of the OTB group, Maison Margiela revenues have doubled since the arrival of the designer in 2014. Accessories have fueled groeth and now account for 60% of the business.

 

Rosso stated that the designer was the only one he trusted five years ago to lead the group as well as saying that Galliano is “disrupting, innovating and inspiring” in Margiela. OTB, also owner of brands like Diesel, Marni and Viktor&Rolf, bought a majority stake in the company in 2002.
