Founded by the Brenninkmeijer family, that still remains as head of the group. It started in Netherlands in 1841 with an offer to bring fashion at a more affordable price. The group is one of the biggest retailers of the world by revenue and it has a strong presence in Europe, but it is also in Mexico, Brazil and China.

The Dutch fashion company has announced the exit of Bart Brenninkmeijer, Frank Beeck, Andreas Seitz and Manfred Mandel. Only Brenninkmeijer, a member of the founding family, will remain attached to the group, keeping a seat in the board of directors.
