LVMH breathes down TJX group’s neck among the world’s largest fashion retailers
LVMH, on the hot heels of the TJX group. The French luxury group occupies the position of 27, one position behind the American group, TJX, who has been grasping the trophy for several years in a row. However, the gap in retail revenue between the two groups is started to close in. LVMH recorded sales of 37.8 billion dollars and the TJX group had 39 billion dollars. Last year the difference in revenue between the two groups was 2.6 billion dollars, whereas this year, the difference shrank to 1.1 billion dollars.
The third in ranking in the fashion sector is the Spanish Giant, Inditex. The group chaired by Pablo Isla has climbed two positions with respect to the last edition. The company has gained ground in the table after growing 3% in 2018, up to 30.6 billion dollars.
The top 3 of the ranking are occupied by three US groups, Walmart, with 514 billion dollars; Costco, with 141.5 billion dollars, and Amazon, with 140 billion dollars that this year has improved by one position.
