Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Kering Eyewear, has denied the interest of the French group to seize the business of the Italian optical company. “We are not interested in having factories, we prefer to maintain our flexibility by contacting different suppliers,” said the executive.

Safilo closed its fiscal year 2018 with losses for 32.4 million euros, compared to the negative profit of 251.5 million of 2017. Between January and December last year, Safilo reached sales for 962.8 million euros, 7% less than in 2017.
