Saudi Arabia joins Europe and the U.S. and decrees the closure of all shopping malls
The Middle East also closes its stores due to the coronavirus. Saudi Arabia decreed on Sunday the closure of all the country’s shopping malls, except for pharmacies and grocery stores.
Alhokair, one of the largest retail groups in Saudi Arabia, has announced the closure of all of its stores in the country, as well as in “other affected countries”. The company will maintain restaurants open, although only with take-away service.
The group is a partner of companies such as Inditex in the region, and operates with a total of 1,267 stores in Saudi Arabia. The company has explained that online businesses will continue operating.
