Nike dreams crazy, wins Emmy
The group’s controversial “Dream Crazy” ad has been awarded an Emmy for outstanding commercial.
“Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything”. It seems that, for Nike, sacrificing something was worth it. The group’s controversial Dream Crazy ad has been awarded an Emmy for outstanding commercial.
The ad was created by Wieden&Kennedy Portland and produced by Park Pictures and Joint Portland. The two-minute piece is narrated by former NFL player Colin Jaepernick and also features sports stars like Serena Williams and LeBron James.
The campaign sparked a national debate, since some viewers interpreted it as a nod to Kaepernick’s taking a knee during the national anthem at NFL games in protest against police brutality and racist attacks in the Unite States.
